Well it’s over – and what a show it was! We wanted to do something different this year at RHS Chelsea and we certainly did! Our theme was Fantastic Mr. Fox, in celebration of the centenary of the great children’s author Roald Dahl.
I would like to give a huge thank you to the team of amazing local artists whose hard work and talent helped to create our vision.
Adam Humphreys of Castle Carvings used his talent and his peculiar instrument of choice, a chainsaw, to create an incredible tree integrating the faces of the three antagonist farmers, Boggis, Bunce and Bean.
Local artist Cara Campbell @theartofcarac (who was recently shortlisted for the Ashurst Emerging Artist Prize 2015) used Dahl’s book as her inspiration to paint a stunning backdrop of sweeping fields and blue skies.
Helly Powell of Fauxidermy, working with a variety of materials, created beautiful chickens as well as Fantastic Mr. Fox himself who was set up on an electronic rail to ‘pop’ out of his burrow when the coast was clear.
And finally, our friends at Apple County Cider who provided wonderful cider and props to complete the Fantastic Mr. Fox experience.
As always it was lovely to see so many friends come onto our stand as well as make new acquaintances. Their wonderful comments about our stand were much appreciated!
